Welcome to Water Cooler Wednesdays! This is your opportunity to bring up all of the issues you hear around the water cooler, but don't necessarily want to bring up to HR. Feel free to submit your questions below. All questions will be anonymous.
Let’s talk creativity…
It’s the feeling in our bones and our gut that just can’t be suppressed.
And yet our brain takes over and everything goes to shit.
We start judging ourselves and questioning who’s going to be impacted
What does it mean for me? For my family? Friends? Colleagues?
What if I fail?
What if it’s a big horrible mess and then everything blows up in my face?
And then you drop down to the self-doubt and safety bubble
You forget about your dream and creativity
And go through the motions of daily life
And you become content with the routine.
“This isn’t so bad.” You say to yourself.
“But it isn’t that great either.” You reflect.
Because you’ve got this thirst and this hunger for something that you can’t quite put your finger on.
You realize it’s there, but it’s been so long since you’ve been able to express it that you start wondering if you can ever have it back.
And then you ask for help.
You reach out and you ask for the support to help you get back to your happy place.
To your creative center.
To who you were always meant to be, before the expectations, obligations, routine and labels.
Your box of creativity has been waiting for you.
It’s shaking with anticipation for you to get back there.
You peak in and BAM it sprinkles its flecks of joy and happiness.
It’s like ticker tape on your own personal parade.
And it’s all for you. It’s only for you.
You feel that joy and euphoria at the core of your being.
Then doubt creeps back because it wants to keep you small and safe.
It doesn’t want you to be bigger than you are. It doesn’t want you to fail or grow.
But this is who you were always meant to be because you are a Creator.
